Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed the India launch of the Surface Pro 4 tablet by January 2016 on Thursday. Nadella also said that Microsoft’s new Lumia flagship smartphones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will be launch in the country by December this year.

Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 4 starts at $899 (Rs 60,000 approx), the Pro 4 with i5 starts at $999 (Rs 65,000 approx) and Surface Pro 4 with i7 will start at $1599 (Rs 1 lakh approx). With taxes, the Surface Pro 4 is likely to cost much more and it remains to be seen which versions Microsoft will bring to India.

On the specs front, the Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3-inch PixelTouch display with a resolution of 2736 x 1824 (267 PPI). It runs Windows 10 Pro, has a TPM chip for enterprise security. Microsoft is offering the Surface Pro 4 in Intel 6th Gen m3, i5, or i7 processors and it will come with 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB RAM options.

For graphics, the Surface Pro 4 has Intel HD graphics 515 with m3 processor, Intel HD graphics 520 with i5 and Intel Iris with i7 processor. Dimensions of the Surface Pro are 11.50-inch x 7.93-inch x 0.33-inch.

Surface Pro 4 comes in 4 SSD options in the US: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. Surface Pro 4 supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi; IEEE and is 802.11a/b/g/n compatible, and has Bluetooth 4.0 support. Ports include USB 3.0, microSD card reader, headset jack, mini DisplayPort and a Cover port SurfaceConnect. Sensors on the list are Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer and Gyroscope.

Surface Pro 4 also has a 5 mp front-facing HD camera and 8 mp rear-facing autofocus camera with 1080p HD video recording. It has stereo microphones and stereo speakers with Dolby audio. The battery life is up to 9 hours of video playback. Microsoft also announced a new keyboard for the Surface Pro 4 with Fingerprint ID.
