The Indian rock band from Kochi, MTVi Xtreme (Motherjane) turned up the heat with their performance at Hard Rock Café in Banjara Hills recently.

John Thomas (drummer and percussionist), Clyde Rozario (bass guitarist), Nithin Vijayanath (lead/rhythm guitarist) and Vivek Thomas (vocalist) performed own compositions and covers including numbers like “Jihad”, “Blood in the apple”, “Disillusioned”, “Clay play”, “Fear of the bank planet”, “Mind street and soul corporation” and “Man in the box” with thumping beats and loud music.

Speaking on their performance, Vivek said, “Hard Rock café is probably one of the best platforms in the city; it gives good recognition and has a really amazing crowd.”

Coming from a mixture of influences including progressive rock and Carnatic music, the band has toured extensively within and beyond the country; their international tours in Indonesia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka and UAE being their most successful ones.

The band has many honours to its name; they were the ‘Best International Rock act’ at the Asian Voice Independent Music Awards in 2009 (Malayasia), Rock Street Journal declared it as ‘The No.1 Indian Band of the Decade’ and chose their album ‘Maktub’ as the album of the year (2009).
