With the aim to inspire, educate and equip the youth from modest backgrounds with skills in English training, office dressing and interviewing, Rin had launched the Academy in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana in June 2015. The initiative has received an overwhelming response with about 2, 00,000 people registering with it.

Gracing the event, Catherine Tresa said, “It is great that Rin launched an initiative that benefits both the youth and the society. I am proud to be associated with Rin Career Ready Academy because of the positive impact it has had on the youth.”

The programme allowed the participants to take the course by simply giving a missed call and answering a few questions to register. Mobile was a key medium for administering the course, enabling the youth to take the course anytime, anywhere. The customised content was designed by British Council and contained 20 modules, each with five lessons. All of this, including talk time was provided for free by Rin, ensuring that time was the only investment to be made.

Speaking about the initiative, Nirupa Fernandez, Assistant Director, English, British Council India said,‘’We are very pleased to have partnered with Rin to deliver the three week ‘Skill up’ English course to learners focusing on improving Spoken English and employability skills. It is amazing to see the impact that this programme has on learners. It is our combined vision to touch many more people through the RIN Career Ready Academy.”

To ensure access to everyone, the courses were administered across eight cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Thiruppathi, Madurai, Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli. Nine batches of students have successfully completed the Face-to-Face course.

Nadhia, one of the participants said, “This is a life changing experience. I thoroughly enjoyed myself during these three weeks, and I feel so much better about myself now. I am now confident of facing interviews, and hopefully succeeding as well.”

Over 8,000 people have completed the course and received certification from Rin and British Council. They are well and truly on their way to become Shining Stars of the corporate world.

Famous people like former cricketer Srikkanth K, director AA Edutech Catherine Tresa, popular movie star Nirupa Fernandez and Vipul Mathur, Category Head, Core Fabric Wash, HUL were present at the event.
