A senior SCB official said that a bridge would be built at Sri Lanka basti, which would connect to the Begumpet road.

A road was built from Telugu Talli flyover to Veerappa temple, now the plan is to construct a road from Veerappa temple to Indian Airlines nala.

Close to 150 huts and pucca houses would be affected in the road widening plan.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed in the slums of Anna Nagar on Wednesday as residents gathered to discuss the road widening issue. Social organisations, local and community leaders are planning to stage a dharna at the SCB office on Thursday.
