KCR inaugurates Rockwell International School in Kokapet

The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated the Kokapet campus of Rockwell International School on Thursday.

Spread over 2.5 acres, the new premises have a capacity to accommodate 1,500 students. The branch is affiliated to CBSE and Cambridge and will commence from the next academic year. Rao unveiled the ‘Rockwell Year Book’ for 2014-15 to mark the occasion.

Deputy Chief Minsiter Kadiyam Srihari said that the CM had instructed in the past that free education standards must be on par with the best of the best private institutions.

Welcoming the gathering, Subash Boda, CMD Rockwell International School said, “Children today need to equip themselves with knowledge and skills relevant to changing environment characterised by globalisation. This generation needs to be armed to face this world with multiple talents, critical thinking skills and workable strategies. Rockwell is committed to creating and executing a curriculum that focuses on developing in each and every child, a range of creative and critical thinking skills.”

The inaugural function was attended by P Mahender Reddy, Prof. Todd Walker; Deputy Vice Chancellor of Federation University from Australia, Ganesh Bigala; MLA, Raghunandan Rao; Collector of Ranga Reddy District and CV Anand; Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.

Rockwell International School started its journey in 2010 with a branch in Jubilee Hills with just six students. Now it has close to 500 in its sixth year of operations and plans to expand into several other locations, first into Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and subsequently pan India.
