As part of the activities for the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’, the Sweekar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences conducted a cultural event for disabled children of city schools on Friday.

As part of the activities for the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’, the Sweekar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences conducted a cultural event for disabled children of city schools on Friday.

About 400 disabled children from different schools participated in events like group dance, solo songs, drawing, painting, rangoli and fancy dress competitions. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners up. Dr P Hanumantha Rao, Founder-Chairman, Sweekaar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences, in his address thanked NTPC for their whole hearted support to Sweekaar in conducting such events. “NTPC has assured that as CSR support activity, they would continue to support Sweekaar like organisations, who serve the differently-abled children of the society,” he said.

The event was sponsored by Southern Region HQ, NTPC Ltd as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) support activity. R Venkateswaran, Regional Executive Director SRHQ, NTPC inaugurated the event in which, Janaki Venkateswaran, President and Dhakshan Deepanjali Samithi participated. N Kannan, GM, SRHQ NTPC, PK Jain GM, SRHQ NTPC, A Rajender Dy General Manager (CSR), SRHQ NTPC and Vinay Chandra Panuganti Adviser to Sweekaar were also present during the event.
