Cluster Exposures, a novel city-based photography group, has captured Charminar in a unique dimensional model that allows viewers to experience the iconic heritage structure and its surroundings at a single glance

“We wanted people to witness how the heart of the City was exquisitely decorated during the month of Ramadan,” says Srivant of Cluster Exposures, the group that captures Hyderabad in their 360 degree camera, which gives a view of the city like never before.

For their first project Srivant, Naveen, Sai Ganesh and Akram captured a panoramic view of Charminar and its surroundings after two long struggling hours, what with the rush of people and festive spirit during the holy month, and spent another hour “stitching” and converting it into a tiny planet.

The result is the awe worthy view of the city decorated—lightened Charminar; thousands offering prayer in Makkah Masjid; the blinking Lad Bazaar, the hub of accessories and several other stores.

“Photography is a medium through which we can express what’s inside our mind without speaking. Of course it’s very challenging and that’s why it’s interesting,” opines Srivant.

The hardware used was 7D with an 18-135 lens mounted, with shutter speed of 1/20 seconds and ISO 800 with a focal length of 18 mm for their work.

Dissecting the nomenclature of their group name, Srivant says, “’Cluster’ means a group of similar things or people positioned closely together. So, in this field, our passion towards photography and art is very similar and we always stick and move around together while shooting.

“’Exposure’ is the amount of light per unit area reaching the electronic image sensor as determined by shutter speed, lens aperture and scene luminance. So, basically we are a group of people who capture picture and hence named it as Cluster Exposures,” he concludes with a smile.
