Eminent emergency medicine specialist and CEO, Apollo Home Healthcare Ltd, Dr Mahesh Joshi, has been conferred with the prestigious Life Time Achievement Award by the Society for Emergency Medicine in recognition of his contribution to the field of Emergency Medicine in India.

Dr Mahesh Joshi receiving the award from Jayesh Ranjan at the recently concluded EMCON 2015 Eminent emergency medicine specialist and CEO, Apollo Home Healthcare Ltd, Dr Mahesh Joshi, has been conferred with the prestigious Life Time Achievement Award by the Society for Emergency Medicine in recognition of his contribution to the field of Emergency Medicine in India.

He was awarded at the recently concluded EMCON 2015 conference in Novotal by Telangana Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Secretary Jayesh Ranjan in presence of eminent doctors and surgeons of the city.

Dr Gautam Bodiwala, former president International Federation of Emergency Medicine, lauded Dr Joshi's efforts in establishing the first structured training program for physicians and paramedic, introduction of point of care Ultrasound in Emergency care, resuscitation training and also the Leadership and Mentoring program of future leaders in EM in India.

Dr Srinath Kumar, President, Society of Emergency Medicine India, acknowledged the leadership role played by Dr. Joshi as the Executive Co-Chairman of the Society.

Dr Mahesh Joshi has been associated with the Apollo Hospitals Group from 2001 and was heading the Emergency Medicine Department at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, till recently, before taking on the role of CEO, Apollo Home Healthcare Ltd.

He was responsible for introducing the first EM physician training program in India in collaboration with the College of Emergency Medicine UK, the first Emergency Medical technician (EMT) training program, the first AHA (American Heart Association) recognised International training center, first point of care ultrasound training program in India. He was earlier conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the College of Emergency Medicine UK in recognition of his contribution to the field of EM in India.

An acknowledged leader in the field of Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Disaster medicine, Dr Joshi has been invited by various national and International forums to share his experience. He has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Stanford International EM program, USA. He has several publications in the field of emergency medicine to his credit.
