Tom Clancy’s The Division

The open world third person shooter, which takes place in New York, has been in development for years now. The game was announced at E3 2013 along with a gameplay demo.

The Division caught the attention of gamers during its announcement and now many want to see the title in stores. The game was delayed last year and was scheduled to be released this year. That didn’t last very long as the studio announced that it was delayed again, this time the title will be released in 2016.

The game takes place in New York and puts you in charge of a team that is working on stopping a virus. The game works like many of the shooters we have today, giving players weapons and explosives to fight against enemies.

The Division won’t have you running around though, players will have to be smart and take cover when they can. Teamwork will be very important as one player will not be able to carry their team to victory. Since this is a third person shooter, the character model is visible.

Players will earn experience points as they progress. These points can be used to customize their character, weapons and gear. The game will also feature a time based weather system, which will sometimes give you an advantage or disadvantage in the map.

The Division was first announced for the latest consoles but the studio did not rule out the possibility of releasing the game on older consoles. On August 20, 2013, the studio announced that it would release the game on PC.

Delay and Beta

The title has been delayed twice, but it is now expected to be released in early 2016. The studio announced on its blog two days ago that the beta would take place in early 2016 rather than this month. Xbox One owners who have pre-ordered the game do have access to a closed alpha that started yesterday and will finish on December 12.

The alpha only allows a number of players in and the size of it is 23.2GB. Those who have pre-ordered the game on PC, PS4, or Xbox One will have access to the beta when it is available early 2016. The alpha is the first time that gamers get to play outside of the multiplayer areas.

According to IGN, players have to say yes to a non-disclosure agreement before getting on the alpha. This means that they won’t be able to show videos, images or any of the things they see during this version of the game. Tom Clancy’s The Division is set to release on March 8, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
