With a view to create awareness among the public about online, ATM and other types of frauds, the police published wall-posters, stickers and audio CDs.
As part of the strategy, District Superintendent of Police District police organised a meeting with the representatives of public and private banks at police headquarters here on Tuesday and released publicity material such as wall-posters, stickers and audio CDs.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Joel Davis advised the unemployed youth not to believe the persons those who promise jobs in State and Central governments and public sector institutions.
He warned the public against phone calls and SMSes that try to extract personal details by informing that they won huge amounts of prize money.
“Do not reveal your bank, ATM card and other personal details to unknown persons,” Joel said.
SP Joel Davis said that they were also trying to educate people through mobile phones by taking the help of cell phone service providers.
Besides pasting stickers at counters of all banks, wall-posters would be pasted at important places, bus stands and audio CD would be played in buses, auto rickshaws and bus stations, he said.
