Karimnagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped a Village Panchayat Secretary red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a person at his office in the town on Wednesday afternoon.
According to ACB DSP Sudarshan Goud, Durshatti Narsaiah, the Village Panchayat Secretary of Thotapalli in Bejjanki mandal, demanded Rs 10,000 from T Srinivas to issue no-objection certificate and settled the amount for Rs 6,000.
Srinivas along with his relative, Balakrishna, approached Narsaiah for no-objection certificate to cut down jelly flower trees and setup a kiln to prepare charcoal. But the Secretary demanded bride to issue the certificate.
