He launched the inter-district judo competitions, organised by the School Games Federation at the Indoor Stadium in Nalgonda on Wednesday.
Reminding that the State government is giving priority to the sports, the Collector has underlined the need to encourage students to participate in sports. The physical education teachers have a key role in motivating the students, he observed.
District Education Officer Vishwanatha Rao pointed out that the district has become a platform for several tournaments of School Games Federation in this year. Steps will be taken to conduct national-level chess championship in the district soon.
School Games Federation secretary J Pullaiah, District Sports Federation Secretary Narsi Reddy and others were also present.
