Nizamabad: On the occasion of Consumer Awareness Week from December 17 to 24, District Joint Collector A Ravinder Reddy directed the officials concerned and the consumer societies to create awareness among the consumers on issues relating to safety, health and food adulteration.

Addressing a review meeting with officials on the Consumer Awareness Week and National Consumer Day celebrations at the Collec torate here on Wednesday, the Joint Collector said essay writing and electocution competitions should be organised for school children in Telugu, English and Hindi languages.
On the occasion of National Consumer Day on December 24 Cash prizes of Rs 3000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 wuld be awarded to the winners and those selected would participate in the state level competitions. The Joint Collector directed the officials to conduct the awareness camps, exhibitions, rallies and seminars to create awareness among the consumers in the week long celebrations.
He said that consumer affairs, legal metrology, water supply, municipal councils, electricity, sales tax, industrial, transport and health departments should take part in the awareness programs. DSO Krishna Prasad, ASO Bhavani, Consumer Awareness Societies Members, and other officials were present.
