Nizamabad: All Indians must register their names into National Census Registrar, said Indian Registrar General Chandramouli. He conducted a review on National Census Register through video conference and explained about the amendments in census register and its work on Thursday.

District Joint collector A Ravinder Reddy and In-charge CPO Keshava Rao participated in the conference. Speaking on the occasion, Registrar General Chandramouli said Tahsildars in rural areas and in urban areas municipal commissioners should take responsibility to amend the register.

He said the census register amendments would continue up to December 31. If anyone did not register their name yet, the census official should consult them and enter their names in register. Chandramouli urged the people to co-operate with the census staff while registering their names.

JC Ravinder Reddy said that in Nizamabad district 92 per cent of census process was completed in rural areas, 67 per cent in urban areas and 65 per cent in municipalities was completed, totally 87 per cent completed, he added. The JC assured to the census registrar that the census process would be completed by December 31 in the district.
