Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the Engineering department officials to take necessary steps to complete Mission Bhagiratha works on time in the district.

The District Collector held a review meeting with the officials of Revenue and Engineering departments on the progress of Mission Bhagiratha works at the Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) here on Friday.
Explaining the progress of the Mission Bhagiraths works to the Collector, Supervising Engineer Chenna Reddy said that they were facing difficulty in acquiring the necessary land under Dummugudem segment (Godavari) in Kummarigudem and Thoggudem areas.
The Collector told the Palvancha Sub-Collector to start land acquisition in Kummarigudem and Thoggudem areas as per the GO No: 123. He directed the Supervising Engineer to upload the details by conducting the Forest Survey as early as possible.
Lokesh Kumar told the officials to put all their efforts to get the permission of the forest department officials of Dummugudem region since the pipeline will go through the Wild Life Sanctuary in Dummugudem segment.
The officials were also told to carry on the laying of drinking water pipeline works of Palair segment from Palair to Khammam without disturbing the road widening works going on in that region.
The Collector also told them to take permission from the Forest, National Highways and Railway departments for the works which will be carried in their concerned areas.
Kothagudem RDO Ravinder Reddy, Palair-Wyra segment Executive Engineer Satyanarayana, Dummugudem segment Executive Engineer Ravinder and other officials were present.
