The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) authorities, as part of widening, removed about 20 illegal encroachments on the main road and the footpath at Marredpally recently. In this process, one of the JCBs used was partially broken and rendered not usable.

In addition, a minor commotion ensued due to agitation and protests from the Pardhi Community, who were the encroachers, resulting in a tense situation. However, the Marredpally Police managed to control and bring normalcy to the situation.

A commotion broke out between the occupants and the SCB officials, which upon intervention by the CEO Sujata Gupta calmed down.
