Warangal: The Public Security Act makes it mandatory to install Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTVs) at busy public places where people in large numbers gather every day, said City Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu.

Addressing the gathering after launching the CCTVs in Warangal city on Friday, the Police Commissioner lauded the leaders of the Mandi Bazar Merchants Association under the Matttewada Police Station limits for coming forward to install the closed circuit television cameras. The initiative would help them to ensure safety of their premises.
In future, the CCTVs would be networked with local police stations, he added. A total of 16 CCTVs were installed from Pochamma Maidan to Charbowli cross. He said the CCTVs that were installed at public places would greatly help in controlling crimes and in crime detection.
Hence the public should come forward and to complement the efforts of police in making the city a safe city by installing the closed circuit television cameras in their localities, the Commissioner of Police pointed out.
