Warangal: Jangaon Assembly constituency would be the first one to be benefitted from the prestigious ‘Mission Bhagiratha’, Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari stated. He said every household in 704 places in the district would be supplied safe drinking water by 2017.

In the first phase, five mandals in Jangaon Assembly constituency, in second phase three mandals in Station Ghanpur constituency and in the third phase three mandals in Palakurthy constituency would be supplied drinking water as part of the programme.
The people in Jangaon Municipality would also get water along with the above places.
A high level overhead balancing reservoir would be built at Komuravelli for supplying water to the above three constituencies. The Deputy CM on Friday inspected the ongoing Mission Bhagiratha works in Jangaon constituency.
Speaking to press persons at Komuravelli, he said the contractors were told to complete the works in Jangaon by April 15, 2016, allowing 15 days time to rectify the defects, if found after the trial run.
Srihari visited Tapaspalli reservoir, several villages in Jangaon, Bachhannapet and Cherial mandal and inspected the Mission Bhagiratha works. About Rs 840 crore were being spent on the project in Warangal district, he informed.
Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal, Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Padma, MLA M Yadagiri Reddy, MLC B Venkateshwarlu, District Collector V Karuna, Mission Bhagiratha Superintendent Engineer Yesu Ratnam and others were present.
Earlier, the Deputy CM reviewed the arrangements for Komuravelli Mallikarjuna Swamy Brahmotsavams, which begins on January 3 in 2016.
He directed the officials to complete all the arrangements by December 25 and asked the Jangaon Revenue Divisional Officer to coordinate the works with different departments. Rural Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishor Jha and others were present at the review meeting.
