Khammam: Demanding shifting of the dumping yard and slaughter house from Cheruvu Bazar in the town, the representatives of Communist Party of India (CPI) submitted a memorandum to Municipal Officer T A V Nagalakshmi on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, CPI district leader Md Salam criticised that the sanitation system within the Khammam Corporation limits was at its worst.
The Sanitary Inspector was transferred from Khammam Corporation two months ago and the Municipal officials, without appointing a regular Sanitary Inspector, has given the responsibility to a person, who does not have proper knowledge.
With this, the garbage was being dumped in public places which in turn posing health threat to the people, he added.
Reminding the officials their promise to shift the dumping yard and slaughter house from Cheruvu bazar, Salam demanded them to take immediate steps to fulfil their promise. Also he demanded the appointment of a regular Sanitary Inspector.
