Panaji: Singer Remo Fernandes has been booked for allegedly threatening a minor girl at the State-run Goa Medical College and Hospital here, where she was undergoing treatment after being hit by his son’s car early this month, police said on Saturday.
Agassaim Police Station booked the 62-year-old artist under stringent Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act on Friday on the girl’s complaint.
Police inspector Jivba Dalvi said the incident took place on December 3 at ward number 105 of Goa Medical College and hospital at around 3 pm.
The accident occurred on December 2 when the girl from Malvan in Maharashtra was walking towards Old Goa, to complete her vow to St Francis Xaviers and was allegedly hit by the car of Jonah (Remo’s son), police said.
Jonah was immediately booked for rash driving. Dalvi said the statement of the girl would be recorded after which Remo would also be summoned. Remo was not available for comment despite repeated calls and text messages on his cell.
