Hyderabad: The Telangana TDP has strongly opposed Telangana government’s decision to bring the BCs (Backward Classes) under the purview of creamy layer.

In a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday, the party working president A Revanth Reddy objected to inclusion of BCs, whose income is more than Rs 6 lakh per annum, under creamy layer.

Constitution has provided special privileges to the BCs in view of their social and economical backwardness, he said, adding that youth belonging to BCs would lose education and employment opportunities once the community was brought under creamy layer, which was against the spirit of Constitution.

Demanding the government to withdraw its orders, he said his party would fight and protect the rights of the BCs. Revanth claimed that TDP was the only political party struggling for the social, political and economical and emancipation of BCs.
