Hyderabad: Taking a dig at Congress party, Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu Sunday said now-a-days the Opposition parties have a one-point programme of creating obstacles during proceedings of Parliament and level baseless charges against the ruling party.

Addressing the media at his Banjara Hills residence here on Sunday, Venkaiah Naidu observed that before leveling charges against anybody, one should think twice. Since the Congress did not follow this fundamental principle, it was rejected by the electorate in the country, he said, adding that the Congress was indulging in making baseless allegations to embarrass the Centre and the Prime Minister.

The Union Minister alleged that the Congress had habitually harassed Opposition leaders during its regime. “Summons were issued to Narendra Modi when he was Gujarat Chief Minister during the previous UPA government and Amit Shah (now BJP president) was sent to jail. But now, the frustrated Congress party was indulging in mudslinging at Union minister Arun Jaitley, who, throughout his political career, always maintained ethical standards and brought dignity to whichever post he held, he added.

Senior State BJP leader N Indrasen Reddy, MLC N Ramchander Rao and others were present.
