Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have tightened New Year’s Eve restrictions on star hotels, pubs, resorts and farmhouses under its jurisdiction. These restrictions are apart from traffic curbs on major roads.

The police decided to impose new restrictions in the backdrop of the information that some hotels and resorts are encouraging illegal activities, including hookah smoking, drugs and organising rave parties.

Now with the new restrictions will be put in place, the organisers are required to take prior permission to organise New Year’s Eve parties. The police will impose time limit on the events. No event should go beyond 1 am.

Posters and hoardings to advertise the events should not be displayed without prior permission from the police, according to Police Commissioner C V Anand.
