Releasing a book on Telangana Neeti Vanarula Avakasalu (Telangana Water Resources Opportunities) authored by S Malla Reddy, vice president of All India Kisan Sabha, at Hyderabad Book Fair here on Saturday, Teja said focus on incorporating people-oriented messages in the cinemas should be looked at. He said writers like Suddala Hanumantha Rao and others had dreamt that Telangana State should rededicate itself for the change.

Earlier speaking on the occasion ex-MLC and The Hans India Editor Prof K Nageshwar said reading of classics had come down and expressed concern over this trend. Quoting noted historian Romila Thapar, he said society needed people who could seek explanation for public actions. “Intellectuals need not be scholars but someone who has the ability and desire and concern. Books will enable people to question,” he said.

He complimented the author for the authoritative account of water resources in Telangana. Despite the Krishna and Godavari rivers flowing through Telangana, lands were dry and no drinking water was available, he added.
