The leaders and the party activists of the district Congress party celebrated the 131st formation day of the Congress at Sanjeev Reddy Bhavan in Khammam on Monday.

Khammam/Nalgonda: The leaders and the party activists of the district Congress party celebrated the 131st formation day of the Congress at Sanjeev Reddy Bhavan in Khammam on Monday.

The party district unit president Aitham Satyam hoisted the party flag on the occasion at the party office.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyam explained about the party’s glory since its formation, it’s role in the freedom struggle and the leaders who strived hard for the party.
He said that the Congress has given political life to many people who had served for the nation and for the welfare of the people. At present also so many leaders of the Congress are still serving the nation.
“Since many people in the country still believe that the Congress is the only party in the country which works for the weaker sections of the people and for their welfare, the Congress is able to celebrate its 131st formation day on Monday in various parts of the country,’ he added.
Party senior leaders Ramreddy Krishna Reddy, Banothu Somla Naik, Md Maqbul, V Narasimha Rao, K Bhaskar Rao, M Brahma Reddy, B Raju, A Radha Krishna, S Sudharshan Rao, Md Gouse, P Mallaiah, T S Jhansi and T Padma were present along with others.
In Nalgonda Youth Congress members distributed fruits to patients at the government hospital in the town on Monday on the occasion of 131st formation day of the Indian National Congress.
Addressing the gathering, Youth Congress (Nalgonda constituency) president Ch Gowtham said that the previous Congress governments had enacted several laws and took up schemes to root out poverty and unemployment from the country.
He cited the examples of land reforms and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, introduced by the Congress governments in this regard.
He said that the Youth Congress was working with an aim to bring back the Congress into power in the 2019 general elections and to protect secularism in the country.
In Nakrekal, the Congress members also participated in the celebrations of the Congress party formation day at the Indira Gandhi statue and distributed sweets.
Former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi and unfurled the Congress flag. Nakrekal Surpanch Pannala Rangamma and others were also present.
