5K Run for Youth Against Speed

About 2,000 people attended the ‘5K Run for Youth Against Speed’ at People’s Plaza at 6 am on Sunday. Flagged off by the Minister of Tourism and Tribal Welfare, Azmeera Chandulal, the Run was aimed to create awareness about the ill effects of rash driving, drunken driving and importance of traffic regulations.

Addressing the crowd Azmeera Chandulal said, “I am overwhelmed with the response and truly hope that youngsters take this initiative seriously.”

Speaking at the event, Praveen Kumar, Founder, Skykings said, “A person may be a good driver but, they can't deny that people do make mistakes–after all, to err is only human. We usually get to learn from our mistakes, but not when driving; the road is an exception. Even the smallest of mistakes on the road can cost us our life or someone else's.”

Later, people lit candles in the memory of their loved ones, whom they lost due to road accidents. The event was organised by Hyderabad Skykings in association with Telangana Tourism.
