Warangal: The members of APGVB Officers Association (APGVBOA) and APGVB Employees Association (APGVBEU) launched relay hunger strike on Monday seeking immediate settlement of a charter of 11 demands.

As part of the relay hunger strike on the first day, union members Uday Bhasker, Mahender, Karunakar Reddy, Raju, Ramesh Bhupal and Mahesh sat at the hunger strike camp held in the bank's head office in Hanamkonda.
The general secretaries of APGVBOA and APGVBEU, N Prakasham and K Bhikshamaiah, garlanded the employees who were on hunger strike. Speaking on the occasion, they strongly condemned the indifferent attitude of managements of the APGVB and its sponsor bank, the SBI towards their demands.
The management was not appointing the staff in accordance with the increasing work, Prakasham lamented. They wanted reimbursement of conveyance/petrol bill on par with commercial banks, promotions to all the staff including scale-5
promotions, enhancement of wages to a minimum of Rs 15,000 per month to daily wagers and to make the APGVB an associate member in Indian Banks Association.
