The Hyderabad Book Fair Society (HBFS) launched a book titled ‘Bakri’ at the Hyderabad Book Fair - 2015 at NTR Stadium recently. HBFS successfully put together its 29th book festival, which commenced on December 27.

The Hyderabad Book Fair Society (HBFS) launched a book titled ‘Bakri’ at the Hyderabad Book Fair - 2015 at NTR Stadium recently. HBFS successfully put together its 29th book festival, which commenced on December 27.
‘Bakri’ is a collection of short stories written by Anwar, who has been writing and working extensively on topics related to the Muslim community and other social issues. The book was released by Allam Narayana, Chairman, Press Club. He has intervened in many contemporary discourses, and his literary contribution has been regarded very important.
Regarding ‘Bakri’, the author says, “The book demanded much from me, including my personal life.” What he saw and observed from the society are all captured in his stories, which consist of a message about humanity, unity among people of different religions, abolishing of gender-bias and domestic violence. About his upcoming works he revealed that two poetry books titled ‘Nayina’ and ‘Ajaah’ are coming soon.
The author is widely known for his other short stories such as ‘Pichidhi’, ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ and his anthologies of poetry titled ‘Talavanchani Aranyam’ and ‘Mutti’ among many others writings. Another of his works, ‘Atma Balidaanaalu’ records the stories of families of youths who gave up their lives for a separate Telangana state.
