Ramagundam (Karimnagar): Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped Madhusudhan Rao, the Deputy General Manager (Civil), Ramagundam -II of Singareni Collieries Company, while taking Rs 20,000 bribe from a contractor on Tuesday.

According to the ACB police, Madhusudhan Rao demanded Rs 50,000 from a contractor, Mukkera Mogili, to clear the pending bills of contract works worth Rs 4.6 lakh and agreed to take Rs 20,000. Not interested to pay the bribe, Mogili approached the ACB sleuths who hatched a plan and trapped the Singareni officer while taking the bribe.
Contractor Mogili had done repair works of NC quarters in Eight Incline Colony worth Rs 4.6 lakh and making rounds around Madhusudhan Rao since four months to get his bills passed.
The ACB trap sent shock waves in other SCCL officials as this is the first ACB trap in Singareni. ACB sleuths led by DSP Sudarshan Goud took part in the ride.
