Speaking at CPI’s 90th foundation day celebrations at Clock Tower Centre in Nalgonda on Tuesday, Venkat Reddy said that all the people pinned hopes that their problems would be solved with the formation of Telangana State, but it turned out otherwise.
Referring to the farmer suicides, he strongly criticised the TRS government for not responding until reprimanded by the High Court on the issue. He pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not even interested to console the families of the farmers, who committed suicides.
Stating that agriculture sector was struck in crisis in the State, he urged the government to pay compensation to the farmers, who suffered crop loss due to drought.
Coming down heavily on Narendra Modi government at the Centre, he alleged that attacks on minorities were increased in the country. The BJP government was working against the interest of farmers and labour and taking decision in favour of corporate sector.
Venkat Reddy opined that the rift between the communists as CPI and CPM has brought down the strength of the left parties in the Parliament. It is right to time to introspect ourselves on it, he maintained.
