Warangal: The members of APGVB Officers Association (APGVBOA) and APGVB Employees Association (APGVBEU) have continued the relay hunger strike, launched on Monday, for second day on Tuesday.

Union members Seetaramulu, Raja Ramesh, Surender Madhu, Kishan and Anantaramulu sat on hunger strike at the bank's head office in Hanamkonda on day. CITU leader Prabhakar Reddy and APGVBEU general secretary K Bikshamaiah addressed the gathering on the occasion.

The leaders demanded the managements of the APGVB and its sponsor bank SBI to initiate immediate measures to address the demands of the employees and officers. They demanded appointment of staff as per the recommendations of Thorat Committee and Mitra Committee.
The protesting members of the unions were asking parity in wages and allowances to the rural bank staff on par with commercial banks, reimbursement of conveyance/petrol bill on par with commercial banks, promotions to all the staff including scale-5 promotions, enhancement of wages to a minimum of Rs 15,000 per month to daily wagers and others.
