The District Collector and Returning Officer K Babu Rao held a training a programme to the counting incharges and agents at Pragna Conference Hall in the Collectorate on Tuesday.
They were given training on the process of counting of MLC votes to be held on December 30 at Ambedkar Community Hall in Khammam.
The Collector explained in detail the process of counting the votes and the rules and regulations to be followed while counting. He told them to have perfect awareness on the counting process since preferential voting system has been introduced for the first time for MLC elections.
He said that all necessary arrangements were made for the purpose. The counting will be started on December 30 at Ambedkar Community Hall from 8 am as per the guidelines given by the Election Commission of India.
The Returning Officer will clear any doubts that arise during the counting process and the staff must follow his suggestions. The entire process of counting of votes would be videographed, said Lokesh Kumar.
Returning Officer and Joint Collector K Babu Rao, trainee Collector Md Musharaf Ali Farooq and DRO Srinivas were present along with others.
