The residents of Secunderabad Cantonment are planning to send 10,000 postcards to the President, Pranab Mukherjee on the road closure issue. Upto 5,000 postcards have already been posted to Rashtrapati Nilayam where the President is residing.

The residents of Secunderabad Cantonment are planning to send 10,000 postcards to the President, Pranab Mukherjee on the road closure issue.

Jeetender Surana, a member of Open Secunderabad Cantonment Roads Citizen’s Forum (OSCAR) said, “All efforts to seek an appointment have failed so we decided to draw the President’s attention to the issue of road closure in Secunderabad Cantonment through this means.”
The residents of Alwal, Bolarum, Green Fields, Yapral, Kowkur, Balaji Nagar, AS Rao Nagar, Sainikpuri, Anandbagh, Malkajgiri and nearby colonies are part of the postcard campaign.
OSCAR was formed soon after a motion on the issue of road closure was rejected in the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) meeting. S Chandrashekar, spokesperson of OSCAR said, “Our repeated attempts to have a meeting with the Army authorities and now with the President failed.”
