Chief Minister KCR inaugurating the ExhibitionThe Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated the 76th All India Industrial Exhibition at Nampally on Friday.About 2,500 stalls from pan-India have been allotted to exhibitors including State and Central Government Departments and PSUs besides Corporate and MNCs for the one-and-half month long shopping and celebration extravaganza, popularly known as ‘Numaish’.

Speaking at the launch, Finance Minister and Exhibition Society President, Eatala Rajender said, “We are providing free WiFi to visitors this year.”

“The earnings from this exhibition will be utilised to support 18 educational institutions in Telangana with special emphasis on girls and women education,” he added. Common amenities like washrooms, drinking water and campus wide security is also provided at the venue. The Numaish will be held daily from 3 pm to 10.30 pm until February 15.

KCR skips speech

Deviating from the normal practice of giving long speeches, KCR kept his presence at the event too brief. He greeted the people on the occasion of New Year and declared the Exhibition open. He was at the dais for hardly 3-4 minutes.

Unlike last year, when he unveiled mega plans for Hyderabad after inauguration, KCR kept the inauguration ceremony a low-key affair. In addition, the Finance Minister and president of Exhibition Society Eatala Rajender was the only other minister on the dais. However, the other members of the Society Vice-President Anil Swaroop Mishra, Secretary Sukhender Vanam, Joint Secretary Aditya Margam and other officials were present at the venue.

Official goof-up delays transfer of land to Exhibition Society

The Finance Minister Eatala Rajender admitted that the goof-up by the State Government officials delayed the transfer of 24 acre land to Exhibition Society. Speaking after the inauguration of 'Numayesh', Eatala said that following KCR’s assurance during the inauguration of Exhibition last year, the process was initiated to transfer the land to Exhibition Society.

“However, when the process reached the stage of issuing a GO, it was learnt that the land was owned by R&B Department and not the Revenue Department. Following this revelation, the files were re-processed,” said Rajender.

Eatala said that the process of land transfer would be completed in the next 15-20 days. He also informed that the Exhibition Society would start a residential school for orphans in Karimnagar soon.
