Driven by passion, Amala Tripathi who chose to give up a position as Induction Trainer at HSBC took to creating unique theme-based wedding trousseau packing and gifting ideas that did not just make her content but also famous. Under the title ‘Utkarsh arts and crafts’, Amala is now all hands full in conceptualising the idea of wedding decorative themes and platters to her clients.

Speaking to the City Tab, Amala says, “I had started the process of creating platters by acquiring materials from other States. I rented a place to create my designs which I can show to the public to gain orders. Initially though, I had to do more leg work, I learnt that online marketing is very simple and takes us to places, globally. I now have clients coming from Bapatla, Khammam, Guntur and many other regions. To my astonishment, there are also clients who ask for designs and place orders from Hyderabad, not ignoring the vast market and ample options there.”

Amala, who is going places with her social network page says that she had a very bitter experience in the direct wholesale market during beginning of her business but that is where she took a leap of faith. “When my designs were rejected citing price factor at the wholesale market, I had put them up at a super market where people started noticing my work. I started getting lot of inquiries for my work and now am stable in this field.”

Amala is now catering to the city’s headhonchos and top brass with her unique style of designing articles that are used for marriages and other auspicious occasions. “I noticed people of the city have a great liking towards new things. My ideas which revolve around a central theme or an article that the clients prescribe will suit their requirement. Most of them ask for ring platters and the wrapping articles that groom and bride gift each other. My designs start at Rs 1200 and can be customised according to the taste, budget,” she added.
