People urged to volunteer for Swachh Bharat

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) began the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Campaign at Picket Gardens. A poster was released for taking up the massive cleaning campaign for fifteen days, beginning from January 16, followed by daily activities to be undertaken in the campaign in a phased manner to make it a “Better Place to Live\".

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) began the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Campaign at Picket Gardens. A poster was released for taking up the massive cleaning campaign for fifteen days, beginning from January 16, followed by daily activities to be undertaken in the campaign in a phased manner to make it a “Better Place to Live".

J Ramakrishna, ward member said, “It is a people’s campaign. It should start voluntarily from the individuals. Though the Central and State Government and Cantonment Board gives the required infrastructure, equipment, financial help and action plans, it is the people who must involve effectively in implementing the same. Only then can we find the expected results.”

Sada Keshava Reddy, Vice-president of SCB appealed to the people of SCB to join in the campaign and make it a smart, neat and tidy Cantonment.” Malkajgiri MP, Ch Malla Reddy said that he has released more than Rs one crore 40 lakhs from MP Lad funds for the campaign.

Cantonment MLA, G Sayanna said that he would continue to extend full support from the State to the SCB for making it a Model Cantonment. Chief Executive Officer, Sujatha Gupta said, “We continue to do our best by providing required infrastructure and equipment needed to make the Cantonment neat, clean and livable for all.”

She appealed to the people to treat SCB as their home and maintain it.The campaign was attended by board members, employees, sewage personnel and representatives from the SCB eight wards.
