He addressed the students of the department in an annual techno meet called ‘Scientia-2016’ held at Andhra Loyola College. On the occasion, Satya Prasad insisted on the need to instill industry ready skills among the students to come out with an opportunity in hand after graduation.

“When there is incorporation of selective syllabus in the academics for the technical disciplined students, the gap between industry and requirement can be bridged. Practical knowledge is what is important for a candidate to nail jobs and prosper in career,” said Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Acharya Nagarjuna University R Satya Prasad here on Wednesday.

He asked the college administration and teachers to engage students in more practical sessions and hold workshops for their exposure to practical work. Meanwhile, scores of students from the neighbouring colleges have taken part in the competitions that were organised.

In Paper presentation competition, Sk Ruhina of PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College won the first prize and second prize winner is K M K Sindhuja from KBN College.

KBN College and Maris Stella College have won the first two places respectively in Quiz competition while students of PB Siddhartha College and Maris Stella College have won prizes in Collage competition.

In events under Coding and Debugging, students of PB Siddhartha and KBN College won the prizes and the first prize for the model exhibit is also bagged by PB Siddhartha college students.

Correspondent of the College Fr S Raju, Degree College vice Principal Fr S Melchior, head of the department of Computer Science S A B Nehru, staff coordinator K Aparna and other faculty, students were present during the programme.
