Khammam: The leaders of Telangana Anganwadi Workers Union along with the leaders Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) on Thursday demanded the government to release the bills of Anganwadi centres and workers, which have been kept pending since four months.

Speaking on the occasion, CITU general secretary T Vishnu Vardhan said, “The building owners, where the Anganwadi centres are located, are forcing the workers to vacate the place due to non-payment of rent since four months.

The bills of vegetables, gas and other retail items are also in pending since three months and also salaries are not paid to Anganwadi workers and helpers since three months.” It was becoming difficult to Anganwadi workers to invest the money from outside and run the centres, he added.

Vishnu Vardhan demanded the officials to take initiation and release the bills as early as possible and help the Anganwadi workers. The leaders of Anganwadi Workers Union submitted a memorandum to Urban Project Officer Kavitha, asking her to take initiation in releasing the bills at the earliest. Anganwadi Workers Union leaders K Prameela, K Sudha Rani, Sridevi and Lakshmi were present along with others.
