Khammam: Congress, TRS and some caste-based organisations were intentionally making the suicide of HoU student Vemula Rohith political issue, BJP BC Morcha state vice-president Pittala Venkatanarsaiah alleged. Speaking to the media at the party office here on Thursday, Venkatnarsaiah said despite Rohith clearly mentioning in his suicide note that no one was responsible for his suicide, a few cast organisations including political parties were playing cheap politics to gain momentum in the ensuing elections by making the issue more critical.

“The letter issued by Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya is not the reason behind Rohith’s suicide. It is his responsibility as a Minister to forward whatever requests he receives in the form of a letter to the authorities concerned. Rohith was not expelled because of the Minister's letter, but he and other four students were suspended based on court orders,” he explained. But Congress, TRS and left parties including a few cast organisations intentionally provoking and dividing the students in the name of caste, he criticised.

BJP city unit president S Pulleshwar Rao, Kisan Morcha vice-president D Satyanarayana, Yuvajana Morcha state secretary G Narayana, city Yuvajana Morcha general secretary P Chandrashekar, J Narasimha Rao, P Venkanna, M Srinivas Rao, G Ashok, D Madhu and K Prabhakar Rao were present along with others.
