Hyderabad: Condemning the negligent attitude of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao towards the Hyderabad Central University issue, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has alleged that the deployment of heavy police force at the time of post-mortem and at Central University showed that the Chief Minister was trying to save the culprits who caused the death of Hyderabad Central University student Rohith.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Bhatti alleged that Chandrashekar Rao did not visit the University of Hyderabad to enquire into the death of Rohith though AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayavathi, CPM and CPI national general secretaries Sitharam Yechuri, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy respectively and several others visited the University and condemned the incident.
“The Chief Minister had time to buy clothes by visiting shops for hours at Hyderguda, but had no time to visit the University which was in “flames” in the State capital following the suicide of research scholar Rohith Vemula”, he alleged. He said the Chief Minister was neglecting the social justice and hence he failed to visit the University. He also alleged that the Chief Minister was exhibiting anti-Dalit attitude.
Welcoming Governor ESL Narasimhan’s field visit and praises on Mission Bhaghiratha Scheme, Bhatti urged Narasimhan to look into the corrupt practices taking place in the estimations of pipelines, intake wells and filter beds constructions. He demanded that the Governor stop the works until the examination was done by high-level engineers. He said the Governor will find the Mission Bhaghiratha Scheme as a ‘Wonderful Corruption Scheme’
