Hyderabad : Taking serious note of the “humiliation” faced by State Advisor ( Irrigation) R Vidyasagar Rao in the meeting held by Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) here on Thursday, the State government has decided to write a letter to the Board asking to induct the Adviser as permanent member/ invitee from Telangana State from now onwards.

Rao was advised to leave the meeting conducted by GRMB on Thursday on the grounds that the Advisor was not the member of the Board. The meeting was attended by the Irrigation officials from TS and AP to discuss the utilisation of Godavari water here.

In a routine manner, the government had forwarded a letter to the Board that Rao would take part in the meeting along with the officials. The GHMB authorities informed the officials on Thursday that they did not receive any letter and hence the Advisor could not take part in the meeting.

Official sources said being Advisor to the government, he was in the rank of Cabinet Minister and had been attending the meetings of GRMB as well as Krishna River Management Board ( KRMB) since the bifurcation of the State. To protect the State interests, the government would write a letter to the Board asking it to include his name as a member, the sources said.
