IS couple from Hyd attacks Telangana constable
A couple suspected to be ISIS sympathiser, who were taken into custody in Bengaluru suburbs, following a joint operation by NIA and Telangana police during the evening hours on Saturday attacked and injured a constable of Telangana Police.
Benguluru: A couple suspected to be ISIS sympathiser, who were taken into custody in Bengaluru suburbs, following a joint operation by NIA and Telangana police during the evening hours on Saturday attacked and injured a constable of Telangana Police.
The couple was living in an apartment for last five years in Bengaluru suburbs and is believed to be from Hyderabad. Rafeeq, the prime suspect, was wanted in several cases, including Ahmedabad bomb blasts. As Rafeeq was trying to flee along with the woman, he attacked one of the constables from Telangana.
Constable Srinivas, who received multiple knife injuries, was shifted to a local hospital. The team later caught hold of the couple and took them to an undisclosed location for questioning. Meanwhile in Hyderabad, the four ISIS sympathisers who were arrested by NIA on Friday were produced before the Nampally Court on Saturday. Later, they were sent to Delhi on Pending Trial Warrant.
