Earlier, the DRDA, along with EGMM, had conducted selection camps in Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy and Gadwal mandals and selected about 200 meritorious students out of about 15,000 through a test and enrolled them for providing physical and mental training.

The students will be trained for about three months and will be skilled in athletics and mental abilities to face Army and police recruitments. The students have already undergone two months training at the institute and as part of an inspection drive EGMM Executive Director Madhukar Babu visited the SEW Training Institute at Peddaiayapally on Saturday.

During the inspection, the ED held mock test for the students and conducted various athletic events like running, long jump, high jump etc along with a written test to assess the level of training for the students.

Under the Central government schemes like Dean Dayal Upadhya Gramina Kaushik Yojana and English Work Readiness and Computers (EWRC), the rural youth who are having economically poor background will be provided skilled training and help them get jobs in various public and private sectors.

“This year the government is targeting to train 3,000 people across all the districts in Telangana and train them make them eligible for police and Army recruitments. From every training institute from each district we are targeting to enroll 15,000 to 20,000 rural youth during each session and ensure that at least 10,000 trained people are placed in private sectors while the remaining will be recruited in the Army and police, depending up on their potential,” said the ED.

Adding further, the ED said about 70,000 jobs that were expected to be filled in the Central government through Staff Selection Commission. Under this, Telangana will get about 2,500 posts in various categories like CISF, CRPF, BSF etc. In view of this, the training provided by the SEW Academy will help these candidates to crack selection procedures and can easily get jobs in the State and Central government cadres.

Furthermore the EGMM is planning to train 25,000 students under Skill India and Make India programmes, wherein they will be provided job opportunities through software applications for the skilled and semi-skilled workers in rural areas.
