The funtimes club at the Teachers Colony here turned into a place of massive activity as it hosted the first ever State level Fruits and Flowers Exhibition. The compound was covered with many varities of plants and spring flowers.

The expo, which is intended to make people aware of various planting techniques, was organised by Haritha Priya Plant Lovers Society and is inaugurated by Central Minister for Earth Sciences Y Srujana Chowdary.

The three day event has put up an array of beautiful flowers in show pieces, bouquets, pots, and ceramic ware. Plants, both fruit bearing and blooms of various species were trimmed and set up at the expo. Many fruit bearing trees were also displayed at the event.

Not only farming members and enthusiastic plant lovers but also nurseries that have come from Kadiyam, Bangalore and other places of the AP State offering extensive variety of seasonal flowers in vibrant hues.

A fruit and vegetable carving competition along with flower arrangement were held on the occasion by the organisers. Various themes and figures depicting, birds, fish aquarium, a face of tribal woman, Cinderella’s chariot, giant dinosaurs were among the many displayed at the table.

The bonsai and garden collection of Telugu Desam Party Official Spokesperson Nannapaneni Raja Kumari at the expo was an attraction among others.
Competitions were held in categories such as flower plants raised in pots, crotons and ornamental plants raised in pots, vegetables and fruits including bonsai the variety in pots, bonsai plants, medicinal plants, cut flower arrangement, tray garden, miniature garden, bottle garden etc.

MLA Gadde Rammohan, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Nannapaneni Raja Kumari and others from the organising committee were present during the programme.
