The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee  has extended financial aid of Rs.5 lakh to the bereaved family of Rohith Vemula Chakravarti, who committed suicide at the University of Hyderabad campus on January 17. The Demand Draft was handed over to his mother Radhika by Telangana PCC president N Uttamkumar Reddy on Tuesday. 

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has extended financial aid of Rs.5 lakh to the bereaved family of Rohith Vemula Chakravarti, who committed suicide at the University of Hyderabad campus on January 17. The Demand Draft was handed over to his mother Radhika by Telangana PCC president N Uttamkumar Reddy on Tuesday.

It may be recalled here that Rohith, a PhD student, committed suicide by hanging himself at his friend's hostel room on January 17, triggering protests on the campus and also in other universities in different parts of the country to demand action against those involved in suspension of the students and subjecting them to social boycott.
