The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in patriotic fervour. District Collector Ronald Rose hoisted the tri-coloured flag at the Police Parade Grounds in Sangareddy on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, he praised the sacrifices made by freedom fighters to secure independence and subsequently making our country a republic.
Sangareddy: The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in patriotic fervour. District Collector Ronald Rose hoisted the tri-coloured flag at the Police Parade Grounds in Sangareddy on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, he praised the sacrifices made by freedom fighters to secure independence and subsequently making our country a republic.
He also summed up the status of all welfare schemes initiated by the State government and explained the progress of works in various departments. He added that overall development could be possible only if the officials from all the departments worked with complete dedication.
The Collector felicitated families of freedom fighters. Various departments displayed their well-decorated models on wheels with various schemes being taken-up by them. The models included 108 ambulances, disaster response and fire fighting, health department, a Forest Department nursery, Irrigation Department with soak pits and so on.
School children from various government and private schools performed group dances along with forming pyramids. The highlight of the events was that the police exhibited how “She Teams” were operating in tackling eve-teasers.
The school children, who performed group dance, received mementos and cash prizes from Ronald Rose. Children who achieved national-level appreciations for sports and other co-curricular activities also received awards of appreciation at the event.
Police officers, heads of various government departments and people received certificates for their outstanding services. Medak SP B Sumathi, Joint Collector Venkatrami Reddy, DRO Dayanand, RDOs and heads of various departments and other officials participated in the programme.
