Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Friday cautioned the public about the fraudsters hailing from Jamtara in Jharkhand, who are notorious for cheating innocent public and siphon off the money from their bank accounts.

The DGP said the fraudsters from Jamtara collects the data of the bank customers illegally and call the customers in guise of changing the pin number, updating the software, lotteries and other modus operandi. They convince the customers and collect the account details, pin numbers of debit cards, CVV numbers and in some case they also cheated some innocent persons to claim the unclaimed LIC policies.

“They (fraudsters) frequently change their SIM cards and dispose them immediately after collecting necessary information from the public. Most of them are young and they are spreading across the country,” the DGP said. He said these inter–state and cyber criminals also defraud people even on Facebook or through social media.

“After collecting your valuable data, the criminals misuse them and withdraw money from bank accounts without the concerned person’s knowledge.
