Hyderabad: Even as the University of Hyderabad campus is on the boil after research scholar Rohith Vemula's suicide, interim VC Vipin Srivastav too went on leave on Friday. M Periasamy of School of Chemistry will take charge as interim VC.
The University of Hyderabad administration took the decision to change the VC just hours before expected visit of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. The UOH students have been demanding the resignation of Vipin too alleging that he was equally casteist and was responsible for the suicide of another scholar on the campus sometime back.
