Hyderabad: The mikes have fallen silent. All campaign vehicles are back to sheds. All parties are gearing up for poll management on February 2 since elections for the GHMC are going to be a litmus test for all. Voters are to exercise their franchise on Tuesday in 7,802 polling stations across 3,117 identified locations in the GHMC limits.

According to final calculations of all parties, only five divisions, out of 150, will witness a tough fight with more than 16 contenders in the fray. While in six wards, only four contestants are figuring in each, the lowest number among others in the civic body.

A maximum of 28 are contesting from Jangamet division. It is followed by 21 aspirants in Suraram, 18 in East Anandbagh, 17 in Balanagar and 12 in Ramantapur. Sixteen aspirants in each ward are contesting in Chaitanyapuri and Old Bowenpally divisions.

Fifteen candidates are in the fray from Lingojiguda, Subhashnagar and Malkajgiri. In divisions including Chavni, Nawabsabkunta, Suleman Nagar, Dattatreya Nagar, Golconda, Nanal Nagar, Ahmednagar and Chandanagar there are only four contestants.
