A book titled ‘Bikshapatra’ authored by writer Bandi Ravi Kumar was released by Cine Director C Umamaheswara Rao at a program organized by the Ramya Bharathi Sahitya Seva Samithi at Chandra Rajeswara Rao Library here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prajasahithi Editor Kothapalli Ravi Babu said that “Poetry should reflect the society of our times. Over the years, it has been told in different forms. A poet should come to common people and highlight their problems in the modern day world,” he opined.

Cine Director C Umamaheswara Rao feels that poetry should express a poet’s mind as exactly as it can. "There are a lot of promising writers and a large number of women who have also started writing novels and poems. This could spring from a very high standard of truth that attributes to the poetry,” he said.

Later, eminent poet Arasamilli Krishna reviewed the book. Andhra Pradesh Writers Association president, S Venkata Subbaiah, poets B Ravi Kumar and Prakash were also present on the occasion.
